The London Marathon 2018

So it finally arrived, 23rd April 2018 - marathon day  One of the hottest Marathon days ever - 25 degrees and he did it - 5 hours 45 mins.  So proud of you.

Folkestone 10 miler

We went with Karen Martin to a very wet Hythe to complete the Folkestone 10 mile run.

We all ran together and completed the run in about 1:44

Lydd runs

Jon ran his furthest ever distance today - 20 miles!!

It was a struggle at about 14 miles but he finished at a run to come in at about 4:30.  Chris did the half marathon.

I did the Headcorn 1/2 marathon today - my first half since last year's Ashford half.

A fast (for me) time of 1.57.37 meant I was hardly able to walk to the car after :-(  Another 3 booked in before Jon's London Marathon in April

Clara took Kaylee to do the Defective Detective at the Panic Room, Gravesend

They escaped and didn't eat the sweets they found in the microwave!!

Alfie's Christmas party

Alfie had a Christmas party with his walking group friends.

He was awarded a rosette for winning musical chairs and another for 2nd prize in the best fancy dress.

London Athletics Championships 2017

A trip to the Athletics to see Mo's last track event (5000m) and Usain Bolt's last ever event (4 x 100m)

What a day!

Mo got boxed in by team Ethiopia and got Silver, then GB women's team got silver for the 4 x 100m then the men lined up for the 4 x 100m...

The noise levels and excitement were awesome as Bolt got injured in the anchor leg and Mitchell-Blake beat Coleman into 2nd place to take gold and a new European Record.

Pafos 2017

Lovely week away with the Martins and Bella in Pafos, Cyprus.

Nice location, lovely people every where we went.

more university trips

Today was Durham followed by York on Sunday

Durham is a beautiful city and by far Cam's favourite university. It's city based and more what he is looking for. AAB as a entry requirement will certainly give him something to aim for.

University trips

Cam and I started out Friday morning for Nottingham. After we realised that the sat nav was set to Avoid Motorways the journey sped up!

We arrived just after lunch and had a good look round. It was campus based and Cam wasn't so keen on this set up.

Sweeney Todd

I went with Sam and Becky for a rather nice Mexican and then onto a veeery hot Hazlitt Theatre for a Valley Park production of Sweeney Todd.

Vitality London 10K

 

 

lovely 10k run again - bit slower than last year but still really good fun. 

Impromptu night out in London

Jon and I went to London to walk along the river, have a nice meal in the Tate Modern and then a stroll back.  Jon nearly got abducted by aliens but was luckily ok 😜
