Dad's birthday

Happy Birthday.

Clara went to football with Dad - hmmm not likey to be repeated anytime soon. Poor Dad pulled a hamstring BUT we did get to see X-Men, days of future past - good film - on Saturday evening.

Sunday we had a BBQ with Dad, Auntie Pat, Lol and Emma (back from Thailand 2 days before the military coup) and the Martins.  Nice food, good company sitting in the sunny garden til the sun went behind the houses and it got too cold.

Clara went to see War Horse with her school. She had watched the film in class previously and this was to help them compare the two media.

Clara's appeal - update

Clara's going to Invicta. We got a letter on Thursday to say that Clara has been offered a place at Invicta :-). She went to see Warhorse with the school and didn't get back to school til 7:30. Mum took the letter to meet Clara and to gave her the letter to show Mrs Bone - everyone was soon excited, Mrs Bone gave us both a big hug, Ella punched her Dad and Clara didn't stop smiling. She went home and text everyone on her contact list.

Clara's Invicta appeal

Dad and Mum collected Mrs Bone from Aylesford school at 2:00 to go to Sessions House in Maidstone to meet the appeal panel to ask them to let Clara go to Invicta Grammar School even though she had missed the 11+ score required by 1 point!  We were met by Mrs Derrick, Head Teacher of Invicta; who has been really supportive. We were introduced to the appeal panel, 2 gentlemen and 1 lady, who asked us why Clara should be allowed to go to Invicta.  Mrs Bone was great and so positive about Clara's ability and the fact that she would thrive in a grammar school and In particular at Invicta because of their great support mechanisms. They either have 10 places to take them to their current role of 192 places or 42 places if they put on another class. We will have the outcome in about a week, we shall just have to wait and see whether Mum and Dad wearing matching outfits will be the clincher!!

Our day at grandad's.

Cam and I went to grandad and auntie Pat's while mum and dad went to London for the day. We went shopping with uncle Lol so he could buy some last minute bits for his holiday. I tried my first hash brown in McDonalds with Lol and said goodbye to Emma and Lol before they went to Thai land.

We went to grandad's boat and spent some time on it; I wanted to actually go out on the boat but it was missing an engine. We went shopping and bought chocolate, grandad took us to the Range and didn't really know what to say!

The Shard

Had a Great day in London: visited Selfridges, Harvey Nics and then the Shard - wow - followed by dinner at Marco Pierre White's restaurant. Yummy steak and the best cheese board! Good times
